Marketing opt-in Handling Methods
Managing Marketing Opt-Ins When Sending Messages in WooChat
WooChat provides several methods to manage marketing opt-ins effectively, ensuring compliance and respecting customer preferences. Here's how marketing opt-ins are handled across different message-sending scenarios:
1. Compose Box in the Conversations Module
Notification of Opt-Out:
When attempting to send a message to a contact who has opted out of marketing (marked as NO), WooChat displays a notification alerting you.
This helps you easily identify contacts who have opted out.
If you attempt to send a marketing template to such a contact, WooChat will provide a warning to ensure you don’t miss this crucial information.
2. Broadcast
Opt-In Toggle:
When sending a marketing category template in a broadcast, there’s a toggle labeled "send message to contacts who opted-in for marketing."
This toggle is ON by default, sending messages only to contacts who have opted in.
Example: For 1000 contacts, if 10 have opted out, the broadcast will be sent to the remaining 990 contacts.
Toggle OFF Warning: If you toggle this option OFF, the message will be sent to all selected contacts, including those who opted out. However, a warning message will notify you that doing so might negatively impact your quality rating.
3. Sequence
Opt-In Management:
In sequences using marketing category templates, messages are sent only to contacts who have opted in for marketing.
If a contact with marketing opt-in set to NO enters the sequence, the message will fail for that contact, and the system will move the contact to the next step in the sequence.
4. API & Integrations
Failure Notification:
If a marketing template is sent to a contact with a marketing opt-in set to NO, the message will fail.
The failure, along with the reason, will be detailed in the report.
5. Incoming Conversations Handled by Bot
Opt-In Ignored:
During bot-initiated conversations, marketing opt-in is ignored.
If a marketing template is used in a bot flow, the message will be sent regardless of the contact’s opt-in status.
By understanding and following these guidelines, you can effectively manage marketing opt-ins, ensuring that your messages are sent to the right audience while maintaining compliance and protecting your quality rating.
