A smooth Meta Business Verification process is essential, and adhering to the outlined preparations and guidelines will significantly boost your company’s chances of success. If you encounter any difficulties, the WooChat support team is ready to help.

Preparation for Meta Business Verification

To improve the likelihood of your company’s verification by Meta, make sure to follow these guidelines:

  1. Active Website: Ensure your company's website is active, secured with SSL, and includes the company’s name, address, and phone number that match the information in Business Manager.

  2. Email Alignment: The account email should align with the company's website domain, especially if you’re opting for Domain Verification.

  3. Phone Number Verification: For phone number verification, make sure the number can receive calls. If your number uses IVR, temporarily disable it.

  4. Consistent Trade Name: The company’s trade name in documentation should match what is displayed on the website and Facebook page, or they should be clearly related.

Documents Required for Business Verification

Due to the varying legal documentation requirements across countries, Facebook has provided a specific list of documents that need to be submitted for each country. Below are the details for India and other countries.

To apply for Facebook Business Verification, you must submit documents that verify your registered business's legal name, address, and phone number. Facebook cross-references this information with the MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) records, making it crucial to submit the most accurate and up-to-date documents. Any discrepancies could lead to rejection or further inquiries.

Here’s a list of the mandatory documents for Facebook Business Verification for Indian businesses, ranked in order of recommendation:

Application Process for Business Verification

To access your Facebook Business Manager account, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account and navigate to Business Settings.

  2. On the left-hand side panel, scroll down to find Security Center, then click on Start Verification.

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Fill in Business Details: Enter your business name, address, phone number, and website. Ensure this information matches the records from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) and your supporting documents. After filling out the details, click Next.

  2. Select Your Business Category: Facebook will display a list of businesses matching the details you entered. Choose your business category from this list and proceed.

  3. Confirm Business Details: Review and confirm the business details you wish to submit. Ensure these details match those in the supporting documents you'll upload next. The information you confirm will be displayed on your Facebook Business Profile once verification is complete.

  4. Submit Supporting Documents: Upload a document to verify your legal business name. Acceptable documents include a Certificate of Incorporation, Business License, Business Bank Account Statement, etc. Once you’ve uploaded the required document, click Next to proceed.

Make sure to select the correct language for the document you're submitting. Specifying the language accurately helps the reviewer verify the document more efficiently.

Verifying Legal Business Address or Phone Number:

  1. Repeat the Process: Follow the same steps to verify your legal business address or phone number on Facebook.

  2. Upload the Document: Once you've uploaded an acceptable document, click Next.

Choosing a Facebook Verification Method:

  • Receive a Code: You can opt to receive a verification code via call or email.

  • Website Domain Verification: Alternatively, you can verify your business using your website domain.

After selecting your preferred method, proceed with the verification process.

Steps to Verify Your Business via Email or Call:

  1. Select Verification Method: Choose to verify via email or phone call.

  2. Enter Accessible Information: Ensure the email address or phone number entered is one you have access to.

  3. Email Verification: If you choose email verification, enter the code sent to your inbox and click "Submit."

  4. Complete Application: After entering the verification code, your application for Facebook business verification is complete.

Application Review Process:

  • Review Timeline: Facebook typically takes between 3 business days to 4 weeks to review your application.

  • Approval Notification: Upon approval, you'll receive a confirmation email. The application status can also be tracked in the Security Center.

  • Additional Documentation: If Facebook requires more documents, you will be notified and must respond to the support ticket by submitting the requested information.

Post-Verification Benefits:

  • Messaging Capabilities: Once verified, you can send unlimited messages on WooChat.

  • Verification Distinctions: Business verification differs from obtaining a verified badge (green tick or Official Business Account), each offering different benefits.

  • Verification Button Unavailable: If your Business Manager is ineligible, you can enable verification by completing your Business Info on Facebook and creating a WhatsApp Business API account through WooChat.

Display Name Update:

  • Starting in 2024, any business that has passed verification will have its approved display name visible, regardless of whether it has a verified badge (green tick).
